Posting here as it's relevant to interior and city photography. It seems that this type of a tripod head is best for micro adjustments, which is important to get the angles just so, and avoid perspective distortion. So really two questions:
1) Is that a correct assumption?
2) If yes, any recommendations for an budget-friendly 3-way geared tripod head?
For geared heads, and 3-way movements, I have what is now the Benro GD3WH 3-way geared head... $250 or so. Is that "budget-friendly"? Maybe not, but, like other photography items, and tripods too, if you go budget and pretty much now you will get better soon, just get better now.
Buying a $100 head and using for a bit before getting a $250 head costs you $350 in the end. It isn't like trying a $100 product before getting the best thing available for $1000...
My Benro is geared, can do the tiny adjustments, and with a twist of a knurled extra knob, can do a major one to get it close. And it doesn't sag, isn't low quality.
