The college that I teach at will be replacing the aging 2020 iMacs in our Photo Lab. We had spec'd the BenQ SW272Q monitor to go along w/ M5 Base Studio w/ 1TB drive. B&H is now showing the monitor as discontinued. They've suggested the BenQ SW272U which is the 4K version of the old model.
Great idea, but that jumps the educational pricing from $800 to $1470 which is not going to fly. In the same general price range at ~$700 is the ASUS ProArt PA27JCV 27" 5K HDR Monitor:
Thanks for the link and taking the time to post. We're looking at purchasing a total of 25 units and unfortunately our budget doesn't have the stretch.
The 5K version doesn't show coverage for Adobe RGB 1998 which I would thin.k would be important in a college photo lab. I have found that the SW versions are worth their extra cost.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, ARGB is very important. The 5K version is not under consideration. Looks like we're getting close to settling on the BenQ PD2732U which B&H is listing as covering 99% of the ARGB gamut v. the 95% of the ASUS PA27JCV.
