Flying into Milan Malpensa Airport (free BritAir tickets) evening of 7 October and immediately bouncing over to Turin for a couple of days, then on to Barbaresco for 3 days, and Aoste Valley for 4 days, and finishing at Orta San Giulla for a day and half before heading home on 19 October.
We pretty much have Turin, the Barbaresco area, and Orta San Giulla layed out, although always open to any additional thoughts. We are still figuring out light hikes, food and things to see in the Aoste Valley. Never would have figured out it's strong Roman history prior to watching some YouTube travel videos. My wife and I are at the cusp of 60, and billy goating 1500m up a mountain side is no longer in the cards. However, would still love to find some less strenuous mountain hikes of up to 6-8km in length. Looking forward to some rustic alpine foods and cheese with crisp whites, after heavier reds and meat dishes in Piemonte.
