I had my vehicle broken in to and lost a Z7ii with a Z24-70mm 2.8.
I know Leica keeps a database, but can't see one on Nikons site.
Does anyone know if they keep a database?

You need to get a police report for the stolen gear. Nikon USA will put it on a list to be flagged if they ever come in for service. You probably need to reach out to someone in service to find out who to send the report to.
This was some time ago (2012?) but there was a post about someone who had their D3 seized by Nikon when they sent it in for service. Apparently they had unknowingly purchased a stolen camera. Nikon turned it over to the police department.
