It's been a while since I've posted some landscapes here at FM, so thought I should at least check in with a few burner sunset photos from my home state of Colorado. I think the first image might be the most impressive light show Ive experienced in my 16 years of traveling this state. Sure the lighting was amazing but the remote location and the long hike out made this one a very special evening. #3 & #6 were the same night, same comp but about 20 minutes apart. That was a sunset that just kept giving. And #5 has become a very sought after scene in the past 5 years, however this years Gold Mountain Fire (power line) damaged about 30-40% of this scene. The area is closed this season, they're still dealing with the hot spots. At any rate Im hopeful yall get out this fall should be exciting.

We picked up a lot of exciting images that night. That one is just my favorite. When we arrive all of us knew it was going to be a special. And thats another factor in enjoying these scenes right? Seeing the conditions early on, knowing theres going to be a long lasting brilliant sunset sort of makes all of just relax and enjoy the show. For me, the end result...the photo is never the only factor that defines a great sunrise or sunset. Of equal or possibly more than equal importance is Experience and the Memory.
