I can’t seem to find the right key words for this for search but is it just my M11M that does not do an auto orientation? Google tells me there’s a setting on page 4 of camera settings, but it’s not on mine. I am on firmware 2.4.1. Some results search says the M11 has it an auto orientation sensor some results say it’s been omitted? How can they not include this? 😂
If you mean does the rear screen automatically change from landscape to portrait orientation depending on how you are holding the camera? My M11 does smoothly and progressively when rotating the camera body. I can find no setting that needs to be set for this. It is the default behaviour.
It should be noted that the rear screen does not auto rotate when displaying the menu or when reviewing images. But if you rotate the camera when reviewing images everything is displayed properly as shot. This is the expected behavior.
Can you post a couple of pictures showing the rear screen with the camera in landscape, portrait, and halfway in between? I would like to see what you are experiencing.
Thx for the reply. Yes it’s on the preview after the photo is taken and not during the menu.
This is so bizarre my M11M does not exhibit this behavior. I had an M10 on rent and I recall it did auto orientate if I took a vertical/portrait image, then when I held the camera normally (landscape position) the image orientated 90 degrees. I hadn’t had a M with a screen in such a long time - had a M10D and now a M11M but I thought the images do auto orient when shown on the back screen? Perhaps I’ve been mistaken?

My M11-P, M11 and M11m shows the same behavior
You have to turn the camera to preview the image with the proper orientation after the shot was taken.
