Most excellent Greg! Everything sharp, detailed, toned to perfection!
When I was a small boy in Iowa, I had a morning paper route( I was 8)..The town I lived in had "alleys" between housing blocks.....June I had fresh strawberries as I delivered the morning news...then raspberries.....rhubard in early June also.....Green apples then red apples..got caught "stealing" apples....unbeknowst to the tree owner, I had stuffed many green apples down my t-shirt....he scolded me and said I would die from "cobby morbus". Never did he realize that I had many apples in my shirt as he kicked me down the block to home.
We climbed trees, jumped from garage rooftop to another, hid behind huge billboard signs as traffic whipped by...snuck into lumber yards and hid among the sweet smelling wood!..
Thanks Dan. Now you have me reminiscing a life well lived! It was oranges and avocados for us, but it was usually neighborhood older folks sending us into their trees to help them pick the fruit then sending us home with more produce than we could eat, so we called over more friends to share the bounty. They couldn't keep us inside!
