Sorry, it's not the answer to your question. Just curious why don't you consider 28-400mm which has the same reach/aperture and much more useful range. It's a sharp lens at 400mm. Pretty close to Z 100-400. AF is going to be better than adapted lens.

The previous version of the Sony 100-400mm works fine via Megadap Pro+ adapter in my experience, so I don’t see why the new lens wouldn’t (unless there is something about the new lens that the Megadap will need a firmware update to handle).
Personally, I would look at native Z options to get you to 400mm before adapting to minimize any issues that might arise through the Megadap or other adapter. For example, IBIS and OS sync generally does not work correctly when adapting.
