I'm not quite sure if that constitutes Phishing or is simpy deceptive unless when you click it takes to a fake log-in page. It could be a free account for anything. Whatever they are up to it is definitely not cool.

Fred may not have any control over what Google posts on his website.
I believe Fred gets income from Google Ads and any control is out of his hands for the most part!
I have never encountered this but I have an "ad blocker" so that may be the reason.
I agree about your concerns. I have had my "ID" stolen and it ain't purty!!

I have "AdBlocker Ultimate" and I have no issues with ANY ads......
I really don't know about all this "add on, advertising and junk "ads" to any webiste( the technical side of) but I do know that "AdBlocker Ultimate" eliminates ALL of it, on ANY website, any Browser, Mac(MalwareBytes) or PC, and the expense is well worth it.
