Testing out the lightweight Sirui 75mm T2.9 Anamorphic lens. It is significantly smaller and much lighter than the Venus 75mm T2.9 lens by the same company (472g vs 1.4kg!). The lens is the Nikon Z version and mounted on the Zf. No electronic connection in the mount, but the camera allows you to send the correct aperture and focal length to metadata.
Very smooth focus throw and aperture ring. The two rings are geared for use with follow focus/aperture control mechanisms. The front is shallow, so I attached a vented 62mm hood for some protection. The heavier Venus 75mm lens has an 82mm filter ring, for comparison.
You might check out the new Parallax Monitor app if you have iOS, it wirelessly connects to your Z and can desqueeze the image preview.
I had a shower thought about using a Sirui anamorphic and that app for 2:1 stills with very easy framing and will be working on that project soon. I'll be testing with an Astra, however.
