10 years ago last week, I decided that I was going to pick up a camera and start documenting the world. This anniversary slipped through the cracks of my frayed attention, but I set aside some time today to revisit my digital negatives from my very first excursion in 2016, re-editing these photos to my current tastes and pushing these tiny Olympus files to their limits using the most cutting edge technology Lightroom offers. My camera has always pushed me out into the world alongside my favorite humans and I’ve seen lifetime's worth of vistas and valleys, mountains and molehills. What a thrill, what a blessing, what a gift!

These are all really great, I particularly like the second photo. Nice job on the editing too, they all look very realistic and have an almost film quality vibe to them. Congrats on 10 years, keep on shooting!

These are all very nice, Scott. I especially like the shot of 'Watchman Peak' from Zion -- I have a very nice shot of it from that same spot, using my old Olympus E-20!
I still have one of my E-M1's -- I had two that I used professionally. Unfortunately, I almost never fire up the E-M1, as my newer cameras always get the call. My wife is still using one of my E-M5's, which I also used for my professional shooting. I figure, if that camera ever gives up the ghost I'll simply give her the remaining E-M1. I may leave the planet before that ever happens.
That said, I have a bunch of beautiful prints produced from that E-M1, and I always was amazed that Olympus did it's most extensive firmware update for that model -- basically making it a new beast.

Great set Scott. It's always illuminating to look back and see how our vision has changed and how it has remained the same. Good inspiration for us all...

Thank you, yes, my editing has trended towards film-lite as I've gone on, the slate blue sky of Kodak Gold 200 is fun to chase in digital files.

Thanks Greg! I heard they made standing on that bridge for photos a misdemeanor, so probably good we got our shots when we did!

I had bought an E-M5 when my son was born, and that turned into an E-M1 before long...that was my extent with Olympus before moving to other pastures, but I look back at those cameras and photos fondly.

I was somewhat pained to see my original compositions, but luckily resizing/upscaling tools have gotten really good so I was able to pull some interesting subjects out of them

Thanks Ronny, and you're right of course, it's the light and it's always going to be the light that makes the image!

Gotta say, #1 evokes Ansel to me... great eye, and also really nice processing. The EM-1 produced really good files, and coupled with modern processing tools the results hold up really wel.

Thank you very much. Some of these were cropped down to 1500x and resized up a bit, modern tools are so good.
