I am having trouble updating my Laowa 180mm f/4.5 1.5X macro firmware.
First I had a hard time downloading the Zip file from the Laowa download page (which apparently hosted on Google). It kept just showing in my Mac finder as a folder, but I could not extract the bin file for Nikon Z.
I finally found, what I thought was a workaround for that by compressing that folder to a zip, then copying the bin to the root of my CFexpress card. However, the Z8 does net recognize that and offer to update the lens firmware (although it does report the existing 1.02 firmware installed on the lens).
So that is the update procedure shown in the Laoway YouTube video.
I did connect the lens to my MacBook Pro with a usb C cable, and simply transferred the bin file to the lens in Finder. I then checked the reported lens firmware on the Z8 and it showed as the new v1.03.
Has anyone else tried to update the firmware for this lens for a Nukon Z?
