A couple of friends tipped me off that there are a number of Green Herons at a park only a 10 minute drive from my home. I have not had much luck there in the past yet with two reliable tips I headed there yesterday morning before the heat and smoke became unbearable here in New York City. I was delighted to find a green heron fishing and sat down at the edge of the pond with my camera's lens foot resting on the ground and composed with the LCD. About 30 minutes in one of my friends showed up and we shot together till we melted.
I'm breaking my posts up by the lighting with the first set when the heron was in deep shade and the background in the sun making for some tricky exposures and processing. More will be posted of the heron in the sun.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

Morris, these are exceptional images in my view.. You captured great actions and postures of the heron. Looking at #4 I was first asking myself if you were wearing a wet suit.
#4, 7 and 8 are my favourites.
