The Sahara desert has sent us some spectacular sunsets the last few evenings.

About 8pm-830pm the sun turns into a ball of fire and the surrounding atmosphere is ablaze in color.

My house is at the bottom of a "bowl" with the ground rising above us nall around..

The smoke was so bad today here in NYC that the sun disappeared. It turned green about an hour before sunset and then slowly faded. Not fun!

I went out last evening to water my plants and I could smell the smoke and see the sahara sand in the sky. At 815pm it was 102F and heat index of 112F. Not any air moving at all!

The sun was blood red and there were "streams/rays" of sand reflecting the sunlight as the sun set over the mountains.

Today it is "hazy", very hot and humid..I can still smell the smoke...

They are a bit "ragged" John. I ran outside with only my 90D and a 100mmf2.8 IS macro lens. So fov was terrible...

The better ones were from a few years back..
