Hi - I am looking for some help please - I shoot dog shows - agility - flyball etc and in every frame i shoot the dog is in a different position in the frame. I am looking for some software (preferably that runs locally not on cloud) that can use AI to detect the dog in each image and crop accordingly (where i can choose to crop in or out further also) - usually process 100-1000 images per shoot on Macbook pro - i am looking at Aftershoot which seems better for detecting people not dogs - just wondering if anyone has any experience with this and can suggest anything please

Interesting workflow! For bulk cropping after AI detection, I usually export the detection coordinates first, then batch process the crops.
If you're also doing background removal as part of the product photo workflow, running that step locally (instead of uploading to a web service) can save a lot of time when you're processing hundreds of images.
I built a Windows tool for batch background removal + cropping to marketplace sizes for e-commerce product photos - similar batch workflow concept. The key is preserving original filenames so you can match them back to your inventory CSV.
What detection model are you using for the dog photos? YOLO or something custom?

thanks for your reply. Currently I am just importing raw files into Lightroom Classic - applying density and colour corrections and then exporting JPEGS to upload to web server for gallery sales. I have done manual cropping in LR classic for the odd image here and there - but when you have thousands of images this is too time-consuming - hence I am looking for some software to be able to detect the dog as subject and crop accordingly.....

There's a feature in Capture One that sounds like it might do what you want. I haven't tried or needed the AI crop myself; thus, it is up to you to investigate.
