With the latest (Mac OS) update to ACR and Bridge, I'm seeing a new (and pretty annoying) behavior.
After opening a raw file from Bridge into ACR and going to the "Crop and Expand" tab, the "Generative Expand" sub-panel is automatically open and the Generate button is selected.
In addition, the "Geometry" tab is closed and must be opened manually.
If I p[em tGeometry tab. for example to choose a different aspect ratio, and then hit the Enter key on my keyboard to have the Geometry change take effect, ACR starts to do a generative expand operation.
So, essentially, there are two issues.
First, I like to leave the Geometry settings sub-panel exposed so that it is visible as soon as I open the Crop & Expand panel. that is the way the app has appeared in the past, but now I have to reopen it manually each time I go to the panel.
Second, this new behavior where hitting the Enter key no longer just enters my changes to Geometry settings or cropping but instead automatically tries to do Generative Expand is immensely annoying. Every time I go to the Crop & Expand panel now I have to manually close the Generative Expand sub-panel and manually re-open the Geometry sub-panel.
Is anyone else seeing this? If so, have you figured out a way to fix it?
Thanks.

Update. There was an apparently another update today, which I have installed since I posted the text above.
Hitting Enter no longer seems to automatically start the Generative Expand process. Yay!
But...
The Geometry sub-panel won't stay open, and every time I return to Crop & Expand I have to reopen it.
I just hit the esc key when generative expand tutorial opened up and now it’s an option you have to check. Note it only activates when you rotate a crop and create blank spaces. Geometry is the same menu for me, so I’m not sure what you’re saying here exactly — but yes, it no longer stays open and you have to toggle the triangle.

Now that you mention it, it did occur when I rotated an image to level it.
I’ll take another look at it this evening.
(I’d prefer not to have the app automatically assume that I want to generate fill just because I rotated and image… or at least give me a check box to turn that behavior on and off.

It behaves normally after closing the first tutorial dialog box. It’s grayed out until you rotate, then lights up to give you choice to use it.
