Last year I did a "spread" for a seed supplier for this flower from Spring to Fall.

Fascinating subject Dan, makes me want to toss some seed in one of my beds, but not sure how they would do in the Fl heat and bugs...

I agree John! The center turns into a blue sapphire before turning into a "ferris wheel" structure looking center.(2nd and last image)
