Went outside to the front garden the other day and encountered this beautiful Orb Weaver (Garden Spider) in our Abelia Grandiflora bush. Then I went out back to photograph some of the beautiful Morning Glories. Creation is so full of amazing things!

Reminds me when I was a kid we had a huge garden spider it was fascinating! Great find of a beautiful spider Greg. I like the first one
Love the character the rain drops bring to the flowers, really great color on these both and both look great to me!!

Thanks, John. My wife keeps a safe distance, but she realizes that the spider is either on her web or in the bush. I'll know the spider has truly been accepted when my wife gives her a name.

Some of my flowers love it but many annuals dont tolerate the heat and humidity for longs periods of time!

Sorry about the heat -- I believe my wife and I brought it with us from Texas. We flew into Washington Dulles on June 23rd, then to Harrisburg, PA to attend our granddaughter's wedding in New Holland on the 27th. The weather wasn't too hot, but as we were leaving they were forecasting a significant heat wave for the first week of July -- it was actually cooler back in Austin.
My wife and I decided we are 'heat carriers' -- we went to Denali, AK in 2013 and they had a heat wave in the mid-90's!

Heat took a small vacation for a few days but the humidity is near 90%. Heat indexes in the low 100's.
I think we all have a "black cloud" that follows us around at various periods of our lives Greg!

Thanks, Mary. It's hard to not give a name to any friendly critter that hangs around your home.
We had a family of Screech Owls in our back Ash Tree a few years back. We named the adult Ozzie and Harriet -- they threw us a curve and had three owlets, so we had David, Ricky, and an unnamed sibling.
