While the first Green heron I came across at the Marine Nature Study Area in Oceanside, NY was very shy, this one was just the oppilate. I found it fishing in a stream right off the beginning of the main trail and I slowly climbed down into the raveen and sat on a rock two or three yards from where it was fishing. It showed no sign of concern as it continued to fish. At times it walked so close to me I could not focus. Rather than the clean background of the marsh in the first heron's photos, this time I have the streambed which made for trickier composition.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris
