Various errors like that can cause a post to fail and the message is not retained. I suggest writing any post more than a few sentences long in other software and then pasting it into FM.

I’m trying to post an ad on the B&S board and having the same problem, except I’m not leaving anything out. And, as always, I’m typing the ad in a word processor and pasting it in. I’ve been doing it this way for years with no problems and all of a sudden it’s not working. Tried it on two different laptops, both running the latest Mac OS.

After I copy & paste, and have double-checked everything, then I click on Send and get a blank screen with text saying “could not access the server”. I also tried a different browser; I use DuckDuckGo routinely now (and have posted many ads & other posts with it), but last night I tried to put the ad up again after logging in from Safari. Still no luck.

My posts (above) on this thread were typed in directly. Now, as a test, I’m typing this message in Pages and will paste it into a Reply, to see if the same thing happens as when I try to post an ad.

Bingo. That worked fine, as always. What DOESN”T work is when I try to post an ad, with photos. I even tried shortening the ad, thinking it might be timing me out, but that didn’t help. I’ve emailed and PM’d Fred, but no response yet.. I doubt if I’m the only one this is happening to.
If anyone’s interested, I’ve got some nice Canon EF macro gear for sale.

I PM’d Fred about this last night, but he hasn’t read that PM yet. Meanwhile, I emailed him this morning and that has bounced. I was using [email protected] - is that correct?

Well, I guess I’ll never know why - I was able to place my ad later this morning. I did not do anything any differently, so WTF? Just another of life’s mysteries.
