I seem to vaguely recall a dystopian movie or two that predicted a thick layer of space junk orbiting around Earth. I guess with the IPO there has to be a business case other than maybe sending astronauts to the moon/Mars.

If you track and then shoot 10+ subframes some tracking software will always remove the trails. Or simple take multiple shots and choose the one without trails.
$300 for a Move Shoot Move with the benefit of a better final result than a single exposure.
Perhaps there's a problem here for research but I don't see a big issue for hobby photography.
