p.1 #1 · Costa Rica Nesting Season | |
Hello friends,
On this occasion, I’d like to share a little bit about our photography tour in the ever-beautiful Costa Rica—though this time, we visited during the nesting season.
Costa Rica is, without a doubt, one of the world's premier destinations for nature photography, and it never disappoints. For this tour, we timed our visit to coincide with the nesting season, allowing us to photograph some of the most beautiful, elusive, and unique birds found in this destination.
Not only did we photograph new species and some of the regular ones, but we also experienced some truly special moments—such as successfully capturing the magnificent Resplendent Quetzal in flight. We absolutely delighted in observing this bird's behavior as it brought fruit, insects, and even small reptiles to feed its chicks.
Another exceptional bird we managed to photograph was the Royal Flycatcher (both male and female). We had the opportunity to visit two different nesting sites for this species; it was a true spectacle to witness one displaying its crest—and, of course, to photograph it in all its splendor.
Thus, every day brought a new adventure as we searched for new nests and special birds—such as owls—of which we managed to photograph several different species on multiple occasions.
If you have ever visited Costa Rica and wish to return, I highly recommend visiting during the nesting season; doing so will offer you a whole new perspective on this incredible destination.
Best regards,
Javier
