So I acquired an NEC PA271Q and a Spectraview II sensor pro. I found the latest update on Sharp's site, version 1.1.44. The menu of the PA271Q is confusing me.
Under picture are 5 choices:
Picture mode, Emulation, 6 axis color trim, picture settings and calibration.
Under picture mode are these options:
Adobe RGB(160nits),eciRGBv2, DCI-P3, Rec709, Rec 2100HLG,Rec2100(PQ)HighBright,LowBlue,Full,DICOM,Programmable,sRGB(80 nits)
Since I want to calibrate this for photo editing in prep for making prints I think I should set it for Adobe RGB (preset #1). There are a bunch of settings I dont really understand
Brightness at 160 (good?)
Black min
Gamma 2.2
White 6500k x 0.313. y 0.329
Red 0.640 0.329
Green 0.210 0.710
Blue 0.150 0.060
But then there is a preset #5 labeled 'Spectraview II'
Brightness 130
Black min
Gamma 2.2
White custom x 0.310 y 0.322
Red x 0.682 y 0.312
Green 0.214 0.727
Blue 0.153 0.041
Are these remaining settings correct?
Then under emulation is
3D LUT emulation off
color vision emulation off
Do these stay off?
Auto brightness off
Uniformity 5
ECO mode off
Calibration
color stabilizer On
metamerism Off
Under Video
Displayport settings 1.2 (not 1.1a)
DP out multistream SST (not MST)
Are these settings correct?
Firmware R1.302
Spectraview engine 5.00
I assume I should warm up the monitor for 30 min, calibrate it and set it to profile #5?
I ran the calibration and it said it created an ICC profile. It also changed the brightness and the white point in the 'Spectraview II' profile. The color offsets remain unchanged.
Brightness 151
Black min
Gamma 2.2
White custom x 0.311 y 0.335
Red x 0.682 y 0.312
Green 0.214 0.727
Blue 0.153 0.041
It also created an ICC profile which I can see in the color management control panel.
Am I done?
I use the following settings to calibrate.
White Point: D65
Gamma: 2.20
Intensity: 90.0
Contrast Ratio: Monitor Default
Color Gamut: Native (Full)
I have the SpectraView II users guide that explains the calibration process. I recently downloaded Spectraview II to a new computer and the guide is in the zip file.
