p.1 #1 · .DAT file will not load

I just got a Sony a7rVI, and I'm trying to load my .dat file from my a7rV. I have done this many times, getting everything correct, and it tells me "This file cannot be found. When I look at the file on my computer, the folders are PRIVATE>SONY>SETTING>7RM5>CAMSET>yourCAMSETfile.DAT. How can I get the folder to read 7RM6? I assume the rVI is looking for the 7RM6 folder, correct? What am I doing wrong?

I'd be surprised if that is even possible. As far as I am aware, you can only transfer settings between cameras that are the same model.

If it *is* possible, then you'd probably have to create a folder 7RM6 where you see 7RM5 in your path. You could test this by saving settings on the A7RVI and see what folder the file ends up getting saved to. That would be where you need your settings file.

I was not even planning to try between two different models. Somtimes you cannot even load CAMSET files between the same camera with older vs. newer firmware.

Thank you for your responses. Apparently, you are correct. I asked Google, and it said what you said. It won't work on different cameras. Who knew?
