Agreed, I'll check it again - it is weathered etc..
Abbeville is a neat place, close enough to metropolitan areas to have business traffic for antique items. And compared to many similar venues well maintained and prosperous (well, at least economically viable).
One claim to fame, and I learned this later, the upper floor window treatments, building at the right, are a painted facade, done for exteriors when Sleeping With the Enemy with Julia Roberts was filmed in town.

The entire square has brick pavement.
There is a fountain on the square, originally constructed for watering horses with a lower edge for dogs, and a large memorial to Confederate soldiers and the Confederacy. A little research indicates Abbeville played a major part in SC's secession from the Union, see Secession Hill.
Today, professional theatrical performances at the Opera House draw folks from as distant as Atlanta, Columbia, and Augusta.
