p.1 #1 · Can you turn off blackout free shooting on A7v?
I just upgraded from the A7iv to the A7v, mostly for the faster sensor. Getting used to the new camera, but I’m actually not loving the blackout free shooting in the V; sometimes I’m shooting bursts with the camera at arms length, and it’s hard to tell from the lcd whether frames are being captured or not. Previously I always knew, as there’d be that brief blackout. The “shoot start display” setting helps with this a little, but I’d prefer the ongoing feedback of the A7iv. I know there is still a flash of an outer frame to indicate that shooting is active, but it’s hard to see when I have the camera at waist level.

This is something I've had to get used to as well. I've put gaffer's tape over the speaker and I keep it at the lowest volume so that at least I can hear that I am shooting. I also purchased a shutter button cap so that I shutter button presses feel a little bit more intentional.
Finally, you just get used to it. You see the screen change a bit and you know that you are shooting. Previously, I'd rely on the blackout, but now I rely on the other kinds of feedback the camera provides.

Yeah, perhaps use the shutter sound?
Yeah I guess that might be an option. I’m used to silent shooting for dog shoots, but maybe it’s quiet enough that it won’t be an issue. Haven’t tried it.
