Just a couple of questions I have the above lens and use it with a A7R5 I mainly shoot birds but will also have a crack at any other wildlife. For those that have this lens
1. What settings do you use on the lens for the fastest AF and sharpest shots ?
2. What settings do they use on the camera for best performance with wildlife shots ?
2. Does anyone use the lens with a A9 mk3 ? Do they with the new firmware for the lens get good performance when operating at 120fps ?
Just trying to see if I am missing a trick with the lens or camera when using the lens that might help get me a couple more keepers 🙂

My understanding is 120Hz in af-s. Not sure what the point is.
120Hz is not the same as 120 fps in image capture. With the Sigma 500 f/5.6 you would be limited to 15 fps image capture. I am not sure what you mean by 120 Hz, but maybe you are referring to the refresh rate of the EVF, is that what you were referencing? If so, you can get a 120 fps refresh rate from the EVF, but you can't capture images at that rate.
120fps is possible only on the a9 III in AF-S and MF. I never used anything beyond 10fps. The thought of culling 120fps sequences makes me dizzy.
Lens OS mode C1 is my preference. It seems less "jerky" compared to the others. But I think that greatly depends on what you're shooting and your own hand holding steadiness. So you really need to experiment.

Yep I use mode 1 quite a bit, the other evening I went to take a shot in low light of a sunset and the jerkiness seemed even more present than usual. I thought something had broken but back in daylight it seems to be its normal level of jerky. Nowhere near Sony lens smooth though with stabilisation. I realised I had it on FULL mode after a trip yesterday which probably didn't help with focusing speed. Should probably do a checklist before going out with it
