I had the blessing of having a couple of female Ruby Throated Hummingbirds visit over the past few days ! I love these little gems . So hard to fathom that these tiny winged wonders migrate over 1000 miles from Central America to the US. They cross the Gulf of Mexico which is estimated to take them 18 to 22 hours ! Many Native American cultures believe them to be messengers . Carrying messages from spiritual realms symbolizing good luck, healing and love.
In the last shot, the fly is blowing a bubble. This is believed to be done to help regulate their body temperatures.
