p.1 #1 · The Willet and it's surprising flight feathers
The Willet is one of the larger sandpipers. I had a pair of them foraging very close to me at the Marine Nature Study area in Oceanside, NY. As I was staying low and still they ignored my presence and at one point got too close for me to focus. The last image which barley fit in my frame shows the stunning underside of this otherwise simple looking bird.
