I am. The only thing holding me back is the body options. The Z9 is a stellar camera body and Nikon clearly has pushed it with FW updates but fell like its due for an update.

Odds are it will be more than $10k. If it's made in Japan I bet it's going to be somewhere around $11-11.5k
That seems likely, if not more. Assuming it’s above $10k, I’ll wait for a refurb and/or rent when I need it. This lens will be a total luxury, not a necessity, for me.

Interested, yes. The Idea of potentially having a 120-300mm f2.8 and 168-420mm f4 without having to mount a TC sounds very convenient. If it takes external TCs well, we could even have a 240-600mm f5.6 and 336-840mm f8 in one lens.
If the rumor is true that it will be priced like the 400mm f2.8 TC, I would probably end up passing, though, since at that price point I would probably be better off with a 400mm TC.
It's going to end up coming down to how expensive the lens is, and how many other lenses it can truly replace for me.

If we use the 400mm 2.8 and 600mm F4 vs their Canon counterparts my educated assumption is we’re looking between $12,369 and 12,634… if I’m a betting man my guess is $12,500.

It's coming. Nikon takes a little longer, but every body since the Z9 has been absolutely a feature packed unbeatable value. One of the authorized Nikon dealers I use often basically told me they're getting ready for it aka their allocation of Z9 IIs.

I’ve heard personal reports from individuals that got hands on time that it’s incredibly light. Don’t want to report the weight they gave me because my impression is they were likely guessing/conveying their impression.
I’m incredibly happy this lens exists, but can tell you personally I wish Nikon would also include a 300mm 2.8 prime in the lineup.
Most interesting indeed!
Let's hope that's true, although I think most of us will agree that it will NOT be light in price!

You could be right but it could be in the $13’s, too. We’ll see soon, I think.
