Took my a7r ii out prepare for a family gathering and it began to flicker and turn white and pink. Unusable now. Sold almost all my other gear and kept the Sony as my last camera purchase for life. Looks like I'm forced to buy a new camera unless you guys think I should just replace the screen and continue using it until it doesn't turn on lol 😂 need help.
If you're not afraid of replacing it yourself and have steady hands it should be a $100 fix

There is always the chance that it is the drivers (electronics) and not the screen. If you buy a newer model camera, you might just reflect back on the problem and be pleased that it happened.
Well, I assume you shot for many years with film way before there were back-LCDs, so the camera isn't exactly "unusable"... ;-)
You can always search online if someone is willing to fix it for you, but my guesses is that you will probably have to buy a new camera, but buy a used one as you will save a ton.
I prefer to shoot film and don’t need the screen I guess lol 😂 as long as the view finder is still working, I could just shut the lcd screen off. My voigtlander 40mm has been glued on this camera haha. patotts wrote:
