For sale is "the best film camera there was, the best there will ever be," the venerable Nikon F6.
This F6 is serial number 0029974 and was originally a Nikon USA product - see photo showing the Nikon USA sticker on the camera's flap. Bodies made under serial number 18754 required a firmware update. This one has it from the factory. The camera is in excellent general condition and I'm only selling because I recently acquired a like-new copy that will be my forever film camera.
In 2025, this F6 had a CLA with Nikon USA with the following items performed:
- replaced retainer plate
- replaced bottom cover

- checked film loading
- checked film winding
- checked focusing mechanism
- checked bayonet mount
- checker shutter speeds
- checked exposure
- checked aperture lever

I acquired the camera in 2025 immediately after its CLA and ran through only 6 rolls. I installed focus screen Type L, which is designed for rapid manual focusing, featuring a 45° diagonal split-image rangefinder, a 12mm microprism collar, and a matte/Fresnel field with AF marks. It is ideal for subjects with horizontal lines and is a popular choice for manual focusing. Both the original focus screen and the installed Type L focus screen are included, along with a backup, new, Type A focus screen -- total of three focus screens included. See the last photo showing the actual viewfinder view from this camera, indicating the diagonal split-image that makes manual focus accurate and fast.

I've always kept charged main batteries in the camera under my ownership, which is, according to my readings, one way to keep the internal battery healthy.
