This little cutie, still in it's winter coat, was hanging around a trailhead near Ouray CO a couple weeks ago. I didn't have a long lens, so this is a heavy crop at 70mm.
We went back to that trailhead armed with a longer lens the next 3 days hoping for another view, but never got one (I'm to impatient to wait long each time). The second day my wife sat on a bench while I circled the big parking lot looking in the rocks. She called me back after a couple minutes - it had run across the path 10 ft. in front of her with a chipmunk in it's mouth, then scampered up a close pine to deposit it. I could climb some stairs on the hill and look straight into a hole I figured must be the den, hoping for a face to peek out, but no dice. I was pretty happy with this one good shot.
