While "they(EV industry) claim an EV car can accelerate faster than a gas engine sports car.
I would have to see that on a 1/4 mile drag strip and that would not really convince me.

Personally, I would want my driver skills and the car beneath me to partake in the "sport"..not a battery. No automatic transmissions either..

Well, tbh, I got a chance to drive a few EVs, specially one like the Model S Plaid, and yeah, 0-60 in 1.98 sec with launch control. It's stupid, in fact, too much. You'd leave a Bugatti Veyron in a quarter mile race.
