Lens purchased from Nikon US last summer. 100% fully functional, and shows little evidence of use. I installed the Breakthrough X4 UV protective filter on it the moment I took it out of the packaging.
This isn’t the sexiest lens I’ve ever used, but it just works! I’ve owned and loved the AF-S 70-200mm f/2.8E FL and the Z 70-200mm f/2.8 S and those “pro” 70-200’s are brilliant, but for weddings and event photography I’ll take this small Tamron-designed 70-180 over those 2 legends any day. It is significantly lighter (easier on the arms) and smaller (less intimidating for camera-shy subjects). It doesn’t have VR, but on a Z body with IBIS I’ve never missed that feature. In a lab test it might be slightly less sharp than the S-line 70-200, but I honestly can’t see any difference in real-world shooting. The AF is very fast, and has no trouble keeping up with my hyperactive kids. It also has excellent close-focusing capabilities–useful for wedding ring shots or for near-macro photos of flowers, bugs, etc.
I’m selling off my Z-mount kit, so this gem needs a new home!
