Hopefully the work flow isn't obnoxious. I can rip through photos in Lightroom pretty quickly.
edit: I tried it. It's powerful, but needs a bit of work on quality of life things, for folks who are only coming from LightRoom or other photo editors, and not video people.
- Import is clunky, moving around an image and moving it on your screen is weird and non intuitive.
- Cropping is horrendous. Straightening the horizon is not refined enough.
- Edit Undo and shortcuts don't undo an edit you don't like. Cant adjust the sliders with the up/down arrow or A/S.
- I cant figure out how to view the image in a higher quality either, I need to zoom in a little more with quality to see if I hit focus perfectly or not.
I will say, clicking the AUTO BALANCE button does an excellent job at an automatic edit. Better than LR so far.
I love Resolve. It was a cornerstone of my workflow when I was a Digital Imaging Tech, so I’m excited to see them branching into photo. It will take a lot to get me to switch, but if they provided a great tethering solution that matched C1 and supported Hasselblad and Sony cameras, I’d be all in for studio work.
