I think it has to do with a lot people are holding onto their money right now given the economic uncertainly, due to the conflict in the Middle East. I was talking to the owner of one of the largest Nikon dealers here in CA, and he said sales are down nearly 60% since the conflict started.

I think you may be partly right. Wonder why the other bodies and lenses are still at retail.

I think Sony's to upgrade also the body and LCD EVF. A7V style sensor and processor upgrade is not enough considering the weaknesses of current A7c generation. We need better user experience.

Alpha Rumors says the A7RVI will be announced in May and that it will have a new body style. This sale may mean that the new body style is smaller thus giving some competition to the A7CR & II body style.
