p.1 #1 · Mechanical v/s Electronic Shutter on X100VI
I noticed my X100VI tracks shutter count for both the mechanical and electronic shutter, which is different from my Sony bodies where only the mechanical count is recorded. I know a lot of people use electronic shutter to avoid wearing out the mechanical shutter, but I’m not sure that even applies to the X100VI. It’s still a mechanical leaf shutter, and Fuji rates it for 200,000 actuations, so I’m wondering if there’s any real benefit to favoring electronic shutter on this camera.

Unless you plan to keep that camera for a VERY long time, I doubt that it would make any real world difference.
Electronic shutter has some pluses — potentially higher shutter speeds, silent camera operation.
There are some potential minuses, too — possible increase in the "rolling shutter" effect, potential loss of some dynamic range, banding when photographing under most contemporary kinds of electronic light.
