I could have sworn that my a1 would display image/file number in the lower left corner of my display, but now it shows the date time and then folder and file name across the bottom. I just want to see the file/image number. I've looked through the menu a hundred times but can't see that I can change that view. Surely I'm just missing it somewhere. The reason it matters for me is it sends the date time info to my cam ranger and then to the ipads for customer viewing and I only need them to see the image number. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think that might have been changed in one of the recent firmware updates
What happens if you view in histogram mode? Does it still send the full screen image thru camranger to the iPad? Or does the IPad also get the histogram view?

I think I found the solution with the help from the Cam Ranger folks. And I was a bit wrong about how Sony displays the image number now. But what I was experiencing was something a bit odd. Cam Ranger started to display date/time info instead of image number because after the battery change, the a1 reset the file numbers in camera and created a new folder. Cam Ranger recognized this and instead of potentially over-writing file names on the cam ranger internal sd card, it changes the display from image numbers to date/time to prevent any possible overwriting of images. I formatted the cam ranger internal sd card and did some test shots and it's displaying file names again. I realize I'm probably in a pretty small pool of sony shooters who use a cam ranger in this way, but if you are, this may help figure out what is wrong should you encounter this issue.
