A starter kit for underwater shooting includes the Polaroid-branded plastic enclosure, the RX100i camera (battery but no card), spare silicone rubber gasket and silicone grease, and a Sony power adapter for charging. Just about all functions are available using the buttons and knobs

I used this on a trip to the Galapagos several years ago for three snorkeling outings but not since. My snorkeling days are over and done. Since it hasn’t been used in a few years I’ve immersion-tested it for six hours with no water intrusion at all.

The RX100i is in perfect operating condition with only some scuffs on the LC screen that aren’t apparent when the screen is active, and some corner scratches from carrying it in my pockets. I’ve since gotten the RX100vi for the viewfinder.

The enclosure resembles the Sony (see B&H), and some details like the latch appear to be quite similar.

This won’t substitute for a $3k underwater rig but is well-suited to snorkeling dives. You can decide if you want to go whole-hog in the future. But this works.
