Hello, all. I have two FM2 and FE2 camera bodies that I’d like to get CLA’d with new seals. Though they function OK, I have no idea when in their nearly 40-year life they have been serviced.
Who are the go-to repair centers/techs in the US these days? Though I’m in Atlanta, it can be anywhere in the US (I think Camera Service Co. in Atlanta has shut down).

Tucson camera repair, in Tucson AZ, authorized Nikon service center/dealer, a gem of a small shop.
Every time I go there it reminds me of how we have lost these places, the TV repair guys, the electric appliance repair guys, on and on... all these businesses, shows my age, but Tucson Camera is still there.

I just called APS. Unlike everyone else, they answered the phone right away. Had a good discussion. For my FM2/FE2’s they quoted 4-6 weeks and in the neighborhood of $200-250 for a full service if no repairs (other than foam) needed. I now remember them from way back in the 2000-ish time frame. They were an authorized repair center for Nikon Professional Services and could quickly get most all the parts they needed. So, a viable option.

One thing I can say is I think all of us Leica users are dreading the day when DAG moves down to the retired list.
I am not an eye witness but IIRC Dan has been training his son for several years now, and they have at least one hired tech. This makes the entire operation somewhat more stable than a one-person shop.
Today I logged into an active web forum for enthusiasts and was directed to an incredibly useful third party website owned and operated by one guy as a hobby.

Sent my FM2N off to Authorized Photo Service (a.k.a. APS) in Morton Grove, IL. I seem to recall using them with good experience probably 20 years ago back when I was shooting an F5. Had a good conversation with them, it seems they haven't slowed down.

One of the sites listed on that compendium above is Vermont Camera Works. I live nearby and go there often, and have had numerous repairs and cleanings of lenses done over the years. Definitely worth checking out, as Jim McRae knows his way around old Nikons.

Saw you've decided already but can't recommend Authorized Camera Repair in Willow Grove PA enough! Great guy who's worked on some Nikkors for me and I'm planning to send him a Noct to clean up soon!
