p.1 #1 · car photography tips?

hello all,

with the nice weather coming I want to get some photos of my car. I went out last week and took a few, but I'm not really happy with the results. I feel like I might have the placement of the car wrong? any tips for my next outing?

thanks in advance,
ana

Love the car and your pixs are pretty good, keep experimenting till you are happy with what you get.
Try some shots from different angles and maybe from the ground as well.
I like #3 color and the black and whites go good with this car and the house as well.
Reminds me of the movie Phantasm.

Photos 1 & 2: The house competes with the car because of the composition
Photos 2 & 4: The tonal ranges of the house and car are same. That makes it difficult to isolate the car
Photo 3 is lot closer to your objective. Agree with the others, different angles & CPL filter.

One more idea is to take multiple photos of the car with shallow depth of field and combine in post. If having the house in the background is needed, it would not compete with the car. You may try blurring out the house a bit in post if you are not willing for multiple photos and combining them.
