Upgraded to the 26 version some months ago from the 25. It has been problematic from day one. If I try to use super select the program freezes and it is necessary to use task manager to close it down. The program refuses to use the graphics card (RTX3070) for denoise, although that is set in preferences, and takes a lifetime to perform the task with the cpu. Contacted ON1 who suggested several remedies non of which worked. Tried uninstalling the program together with all the appdata, reinstalling windows 11 (keeping the apps version) and then reinstalling ON1 Photo Raw. Makes no difference. Have the latest Nvidia drivers installed after using ddu to ensure no conflicts. I have now given up on the 26 version and reverted back to the 25 which works with no crashes and speedily performs denoise.
Anyone had similar problems with the 2026 version?
Yes, PR 2026 is problematic in multiple domains. First, the UI has become more clunky and less user friendly. The same issues with the basic editing functions continue to plague the software. Additionally, the masks frequently don't work when trying to invert, copy/paste, and often become corrupted. There are challenges with the GPU interfaces on both Mac and Windows resulting in file corruptions, sudden program quits, endless loops, etc. Patrick Smith the CEO promised that On1 would dedicate their efforts to making the program work and fixing the basics. This pledge is ringing hollow.
