the living room in our house is in the rear looking out on a small deck. we have been feeding birds this winter with a few squirrels also coming to the feeders. my wife and i were in the living room this morning when suddenly my wife said, look, there's a groundhog. sure enough it was up on the deck railing, got a drink of water, stayed a few minutes and left. he looked pretty healthy considering he had been holed up in his borrow for the last 4 months or longer.
water sure tastes good after not having any for months

Nice series -- he looks healthy, indeed!
He looks like he's been snacking on those 'El Patio' Tortilla chips my wife bought the other day -- possibly with a side of Guacamole!
i will have to keep an eye out for the groundhog in the weeks ahead. we have two of the cylinder bird feeders and the birds will eat them empty in about a day and a half. now that the weather is better and they have access to natural food, it's about time to wean them off the feeders.
Nice shots. They can climb quite well with the right conditions. They also dig. Have had them get under decks and shallow foundation houses and do some serious damage. They are fun to watch in places they do no harm. Nice shooting.
