That’s a very interesting take on this scene. The focus is, obviously, on the layers of color rather than the objective landscape, which I like. I also like the fact that that we see the faint outline of the lower slopes of the Panamint Range in the upper part.
I appreciate the fact that you’ve produced something that is very much not “the usual” with this subject.
It might be “the only good one” you got on trip, but sometimes one excellent photograph makes a trip worthwhile.

Well kind of...I wish the weather would have cooperated with us. I was quite excited to finally be there (after many years of thinking about it) but it would have been a waste of time and $ to wait out the 3-4 days before it cleared. Maybe it'll happen again in the next year or so. -Al
