I spotted these Long-tailed ducks on my recent visit to Nickerson Beach, Long Island, NY. These pretty little ducks are one of our winter ducks and will soon be gone. They were a good way out so I'm having to crop and deal with heat shimmy.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

Nice series of captures, Morris. I'm pretty much a novice, so I didn't know there was such a thing as a Long-tailed Duck!
Shot #4 shows clearly why they are named such.
And the irony is not lost on me that your first response came from 'taildraggin' .

Old Squaw…not supposed to use that anymore
Thank you,
I was unaware of the name change.

Thank you Greg,
I was working hard to capture an image showing that long tail and as you observed 4 did it.
