Pondering whether to buy the Contax 90mm f2.8 lens for use with MF adapter. Currently, my small 90mm needs are covered by use of the Minolta MD 85mm f2. Has anyone used the Contax on a Fuji camera?
I'd advise at the fotodiox adapter for it. Quite literally got stuck to the lens on first fit and I had to bring it to my local camera shop to pry it off. It's a wonderful lens just didn't get much use out of me when I had my G system!

Thanks - I have looked at the Kipon adapter which, so I read, should work fine.

The G90 is an excellent lens, the MF experience of G lenses with adapters is pretty bad TBH
Thanks . I have read good things about the Metabones MF adapter. Since Fuji shows no signs of extending their Fujicron lens line to 85mm or 90mm, my current MD 85/2 is filling the void. Found a good Contax G 90mm on ebay and will see how it compares to the Minolta.
Yeah, my CG 90/2.8 is still doing great on travels. I've used a Kipon for Sony E with it before, and found it so-so. I no longer use the lens on Sony FF. For X mount I have a "Ulata" adapter (in a silver perfectly matching the lens – nice) that's actually my favourite of all I've used (4, I believe, at this point).
(A compact 90 f4 or so, was in my notes to Fujifilm when doing the "What lens should we make" poll).
The Contax arrived. It is a beautiful lens! Currently I only have a Kipon adapter - and it is almost impossible to foctus with that one. Hope the Metabones will work better.
Optically, the MD 85f2 is sharper at f2.8. The Contax needs to be stopped down to f5.6 for good sharpness and contrast.
The Contax' design makes it appear to be almost a Fujicron! Mine is goldish (it was €100 more in black). But still, Fuji should look at this lens and create an 85mm or 90mm f2.8 Fujicron. If Fui is able to put AF into the 50mmf2 or the 23f2.8, they sure can do that in such a 90mm design.
