I had just come home from a shoot and my wife greeted me saying the Red-Bellied is visiting our feeder. I grabbed my camera with the 500mm still attached and had to take these photos through our double pain window from the far side of the kitchen to fit it in frame. As you will see I did take a few at MFD. We have watched this bird grow up and it's used to us watching it through the window from only a few feet away. The woodpecker is on our dogwood and our feeders hang from it's branches.
Comments and suggestions welcome,
Morris

These are outstanding Morris! That 500mm is a sharp lens. Great job of capturing and processing these.
Also, great job of catching the close up of that 'red belly'!
P.S. Your windows are of much higher quality, and are much cleaner than mine!
Thank you Mrs Morris for keeping the windows clean
Doesn't look as if the windows played any interference Morris, I'm sure being up close was helpful too, great captures on short notice.

Thank you Greg,
That window is 2 years old. I cleaned it a few months ago so it's not perfectly clean yet the camera blurs out the spots. I do get some flare which I address by pulling down the blacks.

Thank you Karl,
It's me that cleans the windows and not that often. This window was cleaned a couple of months ago. The window dose cause some flare which I've addressed in post. It's a delight being so close.
