p.1 #1 · Request for a Science Contribution in collaboration with NASA
Hello everyone,
my name is Aldo Zapparata and I am a researcher working with the Campo Catino Astronomical Observatory (Italy). I am currently conducting a study on light pollution in the city of Rome using ground-based measurements together with nighttime images taken by astronauts aboard the International Space Station.
To properly process these images we need flat-field calibration frames for the cameras used on the ISS. Since these are commercial cameras, I am trying to reproduce the calibration using identical equipment on the ground.
I am therefore looking for photographers who own one of the following combinations:
In particular a flat field calibration frame is a photo that It can be make at home following precise instructions
If you have this equipment and would be willing to take a few flat-field frames (uniform illumination, RAW format), your help would be extremely valuable for this research.
All contributors will of course be acknowledged in the scientific work.
If you are interested in helping, please contact me.
