Some of the Ruddy Ducks at the East Pond of Jamaica Bay National Wildlife Refuge were swimming incredibly close to the East Pond Blind. In a few instanstances they were so close that I did not take the photo due to the harsh angle yet for the images I'm showing they were filling my frame as I had the 1.4x TC added to my 500mm. These are all images of males and you can see them in there normal winter color as well as full mating colors in the second image. The others are in the process of turning.

It is so hard to get the eyes to pop on these with that dark eye on dark head situation, but you managed it on the bookends which are my picks Morris, nice work.
